Car Insurance Nissan (Car Insurance). how did the planes working?how did the planes working? Yes. Four forces act on an aircraft in flight. Lift pulls the plane up, weight pulls it down. Thrust pushes it forward and drag pushes it back. The engine and propeller (or jet exhaust) provide the thrust. The thrust accelerates the airframe forward, causing air to flow over the wing surfaces creating lift. When the airplane reaches a fast enough speed, the airflow over the wings will generate enough lift to overcome the weight of the airframe, pulling it off the ground. As speed increases, however, so does drag. The drag stops the airplane from continuing to accelerate to superduperfast speeds. To climb, the pilot continues to add power while increasing the angle of attack (the angle between the wing and incoming air), and to descend power is reduced while AoA is decreased. To turn, the plane is put into a bank resulting in a horizontal and a vertical component of lift. The horizontal component pulls the plane around in the turn while the reduced vertical component requires increased power and AoA to maintain altitude. That's the basics of flight for you. A Plane can fly because of the design of it's wings. The wings are in a "aerofoil" design, meaning the top is longer than the bottom. So air passing through the wings flows faster on the bottom than the top. This creates Higher pressure on the bottom of the wing making the plane fly. Auto parts : Grille Guard Acura 1995 . Nissan . Do it Yourself Add Liquid Ballast to TiresLiquid ballast is a substance used in tires. It's purpose is to increase traction, making it easier to drive on unconventional surfaces; it is often used in tractor tires. As water is a substance that can be used for ballasting, providing you have to right equipment, you can ballast tires at home to save time and money. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Water hose Floor jack Air/Liquid adapter kit Step by Step : 1 Raise the wheel using the floor jack. Remove the valve stem core from the tire to let out air. 2 Rotate the tire until the stem valve is in the 12 o'clock position and thread on the water fill attachment. 3 Screw the large end of the large end of the air/liquid adapter onto the water hose. Ensure that it has been screwed on tightly. 4 Attach the small end of the air/liquid adapter to the tire valve stem and turn on the water supply. Release the built-up air pressure every now and again. To do this, turn off the water supply and slowly push the release button on the side. Once the air pressure has been released, let go of the release button and turn on the water supply once more. 5 Fill up the tire about until it is about 75 percent full, turn off the water supply, press the release button to release any remaining air pressure, then remove the air/liquid adapter and replace the valve stem core. 6 Fill the remainder of the tire with air until the air pressure reaches the factory-recommended level. Nissan . Troubleshooting for Tecumseh Go Kart EnginesTecumseh go kart engines are built for durability and are available in a selection of horsepower ratings. Some of the engines are equipped with an electric starter as well as alternators to power lights and recharge batteries. These small engines pack a punch, however, as with most engines that require heavy usage, wear and tear will occur. A little preventive maintenance and troubleshooting will go a long way to extending the life of your Tecumseh go kart engine. Clean the air filter, change the oil regularly and look out for damaged spark plugs and contaminated fuel. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Spark plug wire Oil Screwdriver Gasket Step by Step : 1 Change the oil if the engine is difficult to start. Disconnect the spark plug wire and use a socket wrench to remove the plug. Ground the spark plug wire to the engine. 2 Pour 14ml of fresh engine oil into the spark plug hole. Hold a cloth over the spark plug hole and slowly crank the engine several times. Take care not to allow oil to spray out of the hole. Reinstall the spark plug and spark plug wire. 3 Clean the air filter element if the engine loses power or smokes excessively. Unlock the tabs holding the air cleaner cover in place. Remove the hex nuts holding the air cleaner element. Wipe the air cleaner body clean. 4 Remove the air cleaner element and polyurethane pre-cleaner. Remove the old gasket (seal) between the carburetor and air cleaner assembly. Wash the pre-cleaner in water and liquid soap. Rinse and squeeze the element to remove excess water. Wrap the element in a towel to fully dry. 5 Apply clean engine oil to the air cleaner element and distribute the oil evenly over the surface. Remove the excess oil and reinstall the clean element and new gasket. Replace the air cleaner cover. If the air cleaner element is made from paper, replace it. 6 Check the engine crankshaft if the go kart vibrates excessively. Use a straight edge or square to check for bends in the crankshaft. Check that the engine mounting bolts are secure. 7 Check for the presence of gasoline in the cylinder if the engine will not start at all. Remove the spark plug and check it for wetness. If the plug is wet, this could indicate fuel in the cylinder. Place a towel over the spark plug hole and turn the engine over slowly three or four times. This should remove the excess gas from the cylinder. Wipe the spark plug dry and replace it. 8 Adjust the carburetor timing if the engine runs erratically. Turn the main mixture adjusting screw counterclockwise 1/8 turn at a time until the engine runs smoothly. Test each setting while the engine in running and under load. The main adjustment screw is on the bottom of the carburetor. If the engine smokes excessively, turn the main adjustment screw clockwise 1/8 turn at a time while the engine is under load until the smoke thins out. Tips & Warnings Have a qualified Tecumseh technician investigate further if the propeller shaft is not straight. *The throttle controls the amounts of fuel and air that come into the carburetor (refer to Figure 6-5). The more air, the higher the vacuum in the venturi. The greater the vacuum in the venturi, the more fuel is drawn out of the float bowl and mixed with the air. The richer the fuel/air mixture, the faster the car goes At high speeds, the throttle is wide open to allow a lot of air to come into the carburetor. At low speeds, the throttle closes so that less air can get in. The big lever on the outside of the carburetor (see Figure 6-6) is the throttle arm. It's attached to the gas pedal and controls the throttle, which is a butterfly device (very much like the butterfly valve) located at the bottom of the carburetor, where it joins the intake manifold. Figure 6-6: The throttle arm on the outside of the carburetor. Part II: What Makes It Go?. The idle speed screvO The idle speed screw is a little screw located at the bottom of your carbure tor, on the outside, right near the throttle. It keeps the throttle from closing completely when your foot is off the gas pedal and the car is idling. (Idling is what the car does when it just sits there humming to itself without moving. 306

The idle speed screw is easy to adjust and can do wonders for your engine performance and fuel consumption if it's set properly after you tune your ignition system. If you turn it clockwise with a screwdriver, your car idles faster; turn it counterclockwise, and your car idles more slowly. Chapter 13 has more detailed instructions. (Don't get the idle speed screw confused with the idle mixture screw, however. Figure 6-7 shows you what each of them looks like.) Pontiac G6. * The idle mixture screw The idle mixture screw looks like the idle speed screw, but it controls the proportion of air and fuel that get to your engine while your car is idling. By turning this screw, you can determine how rich the fuel/air mixture is. If you adjust it properly, you can get maximum engine performance and still save fuel. A carburetor with more than one barrel can have more than one idle mixture screw. The screw (or screws) may reside in a variety of places, depending on your vehicle. Figures 6-3 and 6-7 show a couple of possible locations. You can identify an idle mixture screw by the fact that, if you turn it counterclockwise, the end of the screw comes out of the carburetor. However, because of state .Chapter 6: The Fuel System: The Heart and Lungs of Your Car and federal smog standards, most car manufacturers place limiter caps on the idle mixture screws or hide them behind metal plugs to prevent owners from adjusting them. If the idle mixture screw(s) on your vehicle are adjustable, you can find instructions for adjusting them in Chapter 13. The idle air bleed screw Some cars don't have an idle speed screw. Instead, they have an idle air bleed screw (or idle air adjusting screw, as it is sometimes called) that determines how much extra air is allowed to come in when the throttle is closed. When the throttle is closed during idling, some air should still come through to prevent the formation of carbon and gum deposits that tend to collect around the throttle area. By turning this screw clockwise, you can decrease the amount of air that gets in and slow down your idle. By turning it counterclockwise, you get more air and more idle speed. Air bleed screws are usually found on Lincolns, Cadillacs, and other big cars. Chapter 13 tells you how to adjust the idle air bleed screw. The idle stop solenoid Nissan . Cars with engines with controlled exhaust emissions tend to idle at faster speeds. Often, if such an engine is shut off abruptly, the engine simply can't stop fast enough and keeps going, or dieseling. The idle stop solenoid prevents the car from continuing to idle after you shut it off. More bang for your buck To increase the amount of fuel/air mixture thafs at high speeds or stress. You can see why V-8 passed along to the engine, auto manufacturers engines consume more fuel than most four- or have developed carburetors with more than one six-cylinder engines do. Of course, they put out carburetor barrel. A double-barrel carburetor more power, too. And if you like to drive a big, has two Venturis, and a four-barrel carburetor impressive vehicle around — or if you want to has four. You generally find these on large drive up hills at high speeds—that's the kind oi engines, like V-8s, where more fuel and air are engine you need. Just don't confuse powerw'tth needed fast to supply all those cylinders with efficiency. A smaller engine will do just as good stuff to feed on. In a four-barrel carburetor, two a job if it's not hauling a lot of extra junk around, of the four barrels are reserved for extra power 116 Part II: What Makes It Go? To see whether your vehicle has an idle stop solenoid, look for a little can-shaped device attached to the carburetor near the throttle. When it's time to tune your carburetor, read the instructions for adjusting the idle stop solenoid in Chapter 13. The intake and exhaust manifolds The fuel/air mixture travels past the throttle at the bottom of the carburetor to the intake manifold, a cluster of iron pipes usually found near the top of the engine, between the carburetor and the engine block. Another set of manifold pipes, called the exhaust manifold, carries carbon monoxide and other vapor wastes away from the engine for disposal. You usually find the exhaust manifold either lower down on the same side of the engine as the intake manifold or on the other side of the cylinder head. Figure 6-8 traces the fuel/air mixture's progress from the carburetor to the engine block. To pick up the trail from there, see "The Engine Block: Where the Fuel System and the Ignition System Meet" at the end of this chapter.
